Vocal Lessons
Vocal Lessons
1.Why did you do singing videos?
I was asked to do a series of short vocal lessons for Expert Village and eHow. The videos are below and hope they are helpful to you.
2.I’ve seen other videos and teachers. Is yours the right way to sing?
In my 20 years of singing, I have studied with numerous teachers in styles from classical to pop and there are different methods to teaching. From all my experience as a voice student and teacher, I tried to select a few basic exercises that would be easy to understand.
I want to add a disclaimer that these videos are not intended to replace actual face to face lessons and do not represent a full curriculum of singing.
3.Can you tell me more ways I can sing better?
Many people email me asking to tell them how to sing better and it’s always difficult to reply with a simple answer. I want to try and help as many people as I can, which is why I did the videos. It’s like asking a doctor over email how to make you better without examining the patient. If you are serious about improving breathing and vocal technique, I would recommend private lessons. This way a teacher can evaluate what areas you need to work on and hear if you are using the proper technique.
4.Do you teach private lessons?
I do take on new students upon request. I teach on a limited basis because I work professionally as a singer and music composer. If you live in the LA area and are interested in finding out more about lessons, please send me a message on the Contact page.
5.Will you be doing more singing lesson videos?
I may add some new videos later this year. If you want to stay updated, subscribe to my YouTube channel http://youtube.com/LarissaLamMusic
