I’m excited to share that I was recently featured in an in-depth interview with VoyageLA, where I talk about my career as a filmmaker, music artist, and storyteller dedicated to amplifying Asian American history.
In the article, I discuss my PBS documentary Far East Deep South, which uncovers the little-known history of Chinese Americans in the Mississippi Delta, and my upcoming project Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wing?, a film exploring trailblazing life and career of actress and former Mississippi Beauty Queen, Virginia Wing.
This feature was a wonderful opportunity to share why representation in media matters, and how documentary filmmaking can bring overlooked stories to light, inspire conversations, and preserve cultural heritage for future generations.
