Join Me on March 15 to Meet Virginia Wing

In honor of Women’s History Month, I’m excited to announce a very special virtual event happening on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Eastern Time — a live Q&A with the incredible Virginia Wing, an 87-year-old Chinese American actress whose career spans over six decades in film, television, and theater. I’ll be moderating the conversation and giving you an exclusive look into her inspiring journey, as well as a sneak peek into my upcoming documentary, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wing?.

If you’ve never heard of Virginia Wing, you’re in for a treat. She’s someone who has quietly broken barriers in the entertainment industry and has been a pioneer for Asian American women in media. From appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson to starring in the ill-fated Broadway-bound musical Chu Chem to her recent success in the Off-Broadway production of Uncle Vanya, Virginia’s story is one of resilience, talent, and perseverance.

Virginia grew up in the small town of Marks, Mississippi —not too far from the places we ventured in my documentary, Far East Deep South. Her experiences growing up in the segregated South and later navigating the challenges of being an Asian American woman in entertainment make her story even more compelling and relevant today.

Register to attend the event here.
